Model-Based Field Winding Interturn Fault Detection Method for Brushless Synchronous Machines

چکیده

The lack of available measurements makes the detection electrical faults in rotating elements brushless synchronous machines particularly challenging. This paper presents a novel and fast method regarding interturn at field winding main machine, which is characterized because it non-intrusive its industrial application straightforward as does not require any additional equipment. built upon comparison between theoretical measured exciter currents. current computed from machine output voltage magnitudes for monitored operating point by means healthy model that links with exciter. applicability has been verified different fault severity levels, both through computer simulations experimental tests, delivering promising results.
